Frequently asked questions

  1. Q

What is the best material to use when 3D printing a prototype?

    A

PLA and ABS are the primary filament that we use. However, sometimes we use flexible or wood material filament. It really comes down to what you needing. PLA is more brittle then ABS, but ABS can shrink a bit while it is cooling after the prototype is made. This can be prove to be difficult when you are putting pieces together. ABS is stronger then PLA.
  2. Q

What are your steps in making a prototype?

    A

If you provide us a STL or OBJ (the type of file that is used for 3D printers) we can just print it. The challenges will come in, if we are designing the prototype for you. This requires multiple prints to fine tune the print so that it functions correctly. But we can handle it. We have done some very challenging prints.
